{Hazel-54 days old} Newborn Puppy Photoshoot- Owensboro Newborn Photographer

After having 2 kids, both being boys, and of course my fiance, that makes 3 males in the house, so we knew I needed a girl!

Meet Hazel, our new baby girl, a standard red F1 Goldendoodle! She was born January 17, and just came home with us Saturday at almost 8 weeks old, weighing about 11 lbs! She is named after my late mammaw Hazel, which ironically the day they scheduled puppy delivery for was on my mammaw’s birthday, so it was yet another sign to give her that name.

With being a professional newborn photographer, I couldn’t resist taking my new ‘baby girl’ puppy into the studio to do her own newborn puppy photo shoot! The boys’ were watching a basketball game and we had played hard with Hazel so I knew nap time was near. I drove to the studio in downtown Owensboro, just she and I, and attempted a session with her!

The moment I started wrapping her she immediately went to sleep and snoozed away the entire rest of the session! She let me move her, pose her big paws,  switch props, put tiebacks and a floral crown on her and only peeped her eyes open once, which I got a quick shot of, included below! The macro shots are another favorite of mine, especially her long eyelashes, and a few where she sort of posed herself getting cozy!

We are so excited to welcome our ‘dog daughter’ into the family, and can’t wait to watch her personality, size & coat grow! I had too much fun doing this photo shoot with her (clearly!), and glad I snapped a quick self-portrait with her at the end. That was the hardest part of doing these by myself, however a few turned out thankfully! We already love this girl so much! Be prepared for more photo shoots as she grows, and you can follow her on Instagram @HazelDoodlePup for more cuteness as she grows and fluffs out. ❤

Introducing; Hazel.

{Andrew-16 days-Adoption is love} Owensboro Newborn Photographer

I have had the pleasure of working with several families that have adopted their blessings, and every time I am just in awe of the love they have and the courage to get to that point! Adoption is beautiful, but I don’t think it ever comes easily. Allison (Andrew’s momma) had contacted me interested in booking me for a potential newborn session, but had informed me that they were adopting so they needed flexibility. Of course, I understood and prayed that all would work as they had planned!

I remember the day she emailed me to let me know they had made the trip for baby girl’s birth, only to have the birth mother change her mind once she delivered. I was heartbroken for Allison & her husband, Jay. No words at that time can heal, but I just prayed that their blessing would happen soon!

Fast forward a few months and she emailed me to let me know they were matched again, and we put the tentative due date on the schedule. I cannot imagine the anxiousness they must’ve felt those several months leading up, but their faith stayed strong! I was so happy when I got the message that the baby was born and in their arms!! We scheduled his session for the day after they returned back to Kentucky and he was amazing! Perfect in every way and rocked his session.

In talking with Andrew’s momma at her Premiere Ordering Appointment, we talked more about the process they had gone through, and that’s when she told me how this miracle happened! To make a long story short (i’ll try!), while they were out of state and the birth mother had decided to keep her baby, Allison & Jay received a call that another potential birth mother wanted to meet them! They had just gone through an emotional rollercoaster, but went for it and drove an hour to meet the expecting mom. All I can say is what a BLESSING!! They got the call the next day I believe, that she chose them as the adopting parents! I had goosebumps as she told me, to think after the loss they were feeling, to being matched for a baby boy so soon, God is SO good and He knew the plan! ❤

Say hello to their little blessing; Andrew:

Here are a few words Andrew’s dad wrote about their adoption process:

“It is difficult to articulate the impact that adoption has had on our lives, but I will attempt to convey our story as best I can.  Allison and I have been together for nearly 10 years now.  We’ve shared many amazing life experiences, and our marriage truly brings us happiness, joy, fulfillment and love in a way I cannot express in words.  We’ve always known we wanted to be parents.  We were both fortunate to be raised in big, loving families, and we wanted to be able to experience the same joys our parents had.

Our journey to parenthood took us through a circuitous, and at times, painful path.  Navigating the process of adoption requires full dedication and strength of commitment from both partners.  Though our story has not been without its difficult days, we always remained deeply devoted to our dream of being parents.  Every second we spend with our beautiful, perfect son, we are reminded that the setbacks, obstacles, and heartbreaks we encountered along the way do not begin to compare to the joy and fulfillment parenthood brings us.”

{Mr. & Mrs. Stanley}

When my soon to be sister-in-law asked me to photograph her wedding…even though I quit shooting weddings about 3 years ago, I couldn’t say no! It intrigued me to mix it up from my typical newborns, babies & families…just this once. 😛

They chose to do a very small, intimate destination wedding in Charleston, SC, and let me say it was GORGEOUS!

Natasha was beaming, and so calmly wanting to ensure everything was perfect, and it was! The weather, the set up, her hair, make up, dress, sunlight…all of it just flowed! She told me it was her ‘favorite day ever’, and i’d say their photos prove that!

Congrats to you both, Natasha & Tyler! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your big day, and to be a part of it!

Without further ado; the newlyweds:

Oh Isla, gorgeous baby girl!

I grew up with this sweet girl’s momma, we have been best friends since 2nd grade! Therefore in my nearly 8 years in business, i’ve photographed many of their big milestones! Engagement, wedding, maternity for both kiddos, Baby’s First Year & yearly for their little boy, and now miss Isla has begun the Baby’s First Year Plan!

I am so excited that I get to not only watch their little ones grow, but to also photograph them along the way!

I have been awful with keeping up on this blog, so without further ado…
Isla Claire.

Say hello to my sister and her beautiful family! This amazing girl shot weddings with me back when I offered them. I keep telling her to quit her job and come be my newborn assistant…one day, one day I will win!

The down side of her having a professional photographer for a sister…she has to wait a few weeks longer than everyone else to see their gallery since it’s busy season! She of course has been super patient but I know she is dying to see their images!

Without further ado, a few favorites of mine from their adorable family session.

We had a BLAST!
