This session was extra special.
I have known Jessica for many years, and when I found out her and her husband were adopting a sweet baby of their own, I was so happy and excited for them! I was honored to photograph their family photos when Beckham was 6 weeks old, and I couldn’t get over how much he looked like his parents, daddy especially! I truly feel that God hand picks each and every baby for their family, even through adoption!
This little man’s mommy was so kind to write about their adoption story for us to share here with you, along with a few of my favorite images from our session!
“Every good and perfect gift is from above.”
“Andrew and I never imagined that our road to parenthood would be so tough-we experienced loss and heartache as we went through countless fertility treatments and lots of times cried out to God why it wasn’t happening for us. As the years continued to pass our hearts were opened to adoption and we started the process with Faithful Adoption Consultants in November of 2014. We finished our home study and all the adoption paperwork the end of January, became active clients on February 20th and were chosen by a birth mother the same day who was due on March 14th! We flew out to California and met our precious birth mother 10 days before our sweet boy arrived. The time we shared with her before the delivery is so special to us, she is truly our hero. Seeing our son take his first breath will be something I cherish forever and in that moment every tear and frustration made perfect sense. God was making us wait because He had chosen Beckham for us long before we even thought about children! We prayed for 1384 days and our sweet boy was definitely worth the wait!! We know that our greatest joy came from our birth mothers greatest heartache. We are forever grateful that she was selfless enough to choose life for Beckham and that she loved him so much that she chose us to give him a future! Adoption is love, it is hope and it is redemption! People say that Beckham is so lucky to have us but we’re really the lucky ones!”
